As part of ongoing research for a new book addressing Human Trafficking, a new survey is available at the link below. The purpose of this survey is to accurately capture the opinions and viewpoints regarding Human Trafficking. Many people have predefined ideas of what Human Trafficking is, where it is and who the victims are. This Public Safety Warning comes from a Homeland Security Report reader:
The reader was driving toward town when he saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it. The driver did not stop, even though as he said, "I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head." When he arrived at his destination, he called the local police department. This is what he was told: Several things to be aware of .. gangs and thieves, are now plotting different ways to get a person to stop their vehicle.
Apparently there is a gang initiation reported by the local police department that gangs are placing a car seat by the road...with a fake baby in it...waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the baby.
The location of this car seat will usually be beside a wooded or grassy (field) area ...and the person (a woman) will be dragged into the woods- beaten and raped- usually left for dead.
What should you do: DO NOT STOP. Call 911, report the location to the police immediately. The sooner you report it the better as it might prevent another unsuspecting person from becoming a victim.
